My partner and I really wanted to animate a giant squid that would attack the player on random days, which could have added intense gameplay elements and increased the overall tension.

One of the biggest challenges for me was learning AI, particularly implementing the AI’s object destruction and coding a pathfinding system. It was quite a hurdle for our first project, but in the end, we found solutions together as a team!

Since this was our first project, my partner, who was experienced with Git, guided me through its use which was life changing !

RESPONSABILITIES

RESEARCH

As our first venture into first-person gameplay, we drew inspiration from Call of Duty Zombies, as it shares a similar intensity and action-packed experience!

CORE

My partner and I divided tasks to maximize our efficiency: he focused on developing spells, while I handled movement, abilities, and AI. We ensured our code was modular and scalable, keeping future expansion in mind.

CREATING A FUN EXPERIENCE

We had lots of friends playtest our game through Discord calls and small playtest sessions to gather feedback and make the game more fun!

POLISH AND FINAL PRODUCT

The game never released and likely never will, but it was an incredibly fun experience collaborating with my partner and exploring the behind-the-scenes of an FPS.

“With a fair understanding of the development pipelines in Unity and Unreal Engine. My practical experience showcases a keen understanding of the game development process.
Additionally, I have successfully navigated projects using engines like GameMaker, demonstrating versatility and fearlessness in embracing new challenges. “
